I need help with adult dog house training!?
Question by Fun Fun Fun Fun™: I need help with adult dog house training!?
My dog (about a year and 4 months old) will not poo outside. He will willingly pee outside, but he continues to poo inside (and not on the boxer puppy pads we set out for him either.) If you haveany suggestions that will be great, because if he is not housetrained soon, my mom is going to get him a house outside. He is a Teacup Yorkie and only weighs 5 pounds! So please HELP!
By the way, he has no specific poo time. He just poos whenever!!! That is one of the things that is very frustrating…

Pay attention to the dog! When does he poo? Is it when he wakes up, or after he eats? You can if you pay attention, find a pattern, Then, let him out when it is time, when he is done reward him and bring him inside.
But, as a side note, this is not a BIG problem. I have basset hounds, it wuld be a big problem with them! (Sorry, I could not resist a little joke!)

A dog that small should NOT be kept outside. It is too dangerous. If you cant housebreak him, then I would suggest you give him to someone who can, and who will keep him inside.
)
Try paying attention to the time of day when he goes (most dogs go about the same time every day, frequently right after they eat).
Make sure you take him outside at that time, then keep taking him back out at regular intervals until he goes. When he goes outside, praise him, and take him back in the house.
If he makes a mistake in the house, tell him “NO”, then take both him and the poo outside, and place the poo where you want him to go. That way he will know where the bathroom is supposed to be
You can use something like Natures Miracle to remove the smell in the house, so he is not tempted to go back to the same place.
